The Department of Ophthalmology at the Medical University of Vienna was founded 1812. Since then we maintain a high level of scientific research to further the progress in scientific understanding of diseases and treatment. One of it’s three divisions, it’s the Vienna Reading Center (VRC).
The VRC provides best-in-class imaging services for posterior eye diseases. We provide OCT, OCT-A, CF, FLA, FAF, MP image grading services to clinical, pharmaceutical and academic research. By grading more than 10.000 images per year for international phase II – phase IV multi-center studies as well as single site investigator research we own streamlined processes and a broad experience in handling investigator sides. The group includes dedicated clinical retina experts, certified readers, and administrative personnel. A solid network of over 200 academic sites over 5 continents is connected with the VRC and has served successfully in multiple prospective randomized clinical trials.
In addition to our imaging services we offer a broad range of complementary services to contribute to the success of new therapeutic strategies for ocular diseases. Our services are supported by state-of-the-art technology offering conventional as well as the most specialized image analysis tools and methods.
The Vienna Reading Center is ISO 9001 certified, established according FDA and EMA requirements and approved by several audits and monitoring’s. To support global clinical trials our methods and procedures are prepared to cooperate with other reading centers.
