Canon invites you to Come and See its brand new product range at photokina 2014

London, UK, 15 September 2014 – Today at photokina, the world’s largest imaging show, Canon unveils an exciting new range of seven products and services, and a new Canon Cross Media station will also be previewed. The range includes a new enthusiast DSLR, the most powerful pocketable PowerShot to date and the next evolution of irista, Canon’s cloud based image management system. The line-up emphasises Canon’s commitment to innovation and to its customers, unleashing new tools for people to capture and share the world as they see it.

    • The PowerShot G7 X is Canon’s first camera to incorporate a 1.0-type back illuminated 20.2 Megapixel CMOS sensor – delivering exceptional results in all situations
    • It exudes the PowerShot G-series’ iconic DNA, merging a first class ultra-bright f/1.8-2.8, 4.2x lens, with Canon’s flagship imaging technologies, in a refined metal body
The PowerShot G7 X joins the popular PowerShot G1 X Mark II in Canon’s growing compact camera line up. As demand for large sensor, Premium expert compact cameras continues to grow, Canon will further strengthen its range by developing models that incorporate large sensors and high magnification zoom lenses.

  • Based on customer feedback, and as part of the ongoing evolution of irista, a range of new features have been announced, including:
    • Full integration with Canon’s Wi-Fi ready compact cameras and DSLRs, available from today
    • From December 2014, the user experience will be optimised for iOS and Android tablets, mirroring irista’s PC functionality, but with an interface designed for viewing image libraries seamlessly on the most popular tablets
    • Adobe™ Lightroom integration, allowing users to directly upload and synchronise Lightroom edits in irista, will also be available from December
    • Introduction of a photo book service, creating and ordering printed books directly within irista will also be available in time for Christmas. There will also be an option to print your images directly from irista

  • With a huge 65x zoom in a compact and ergonomic body, the new PowerShot SX60 HS is fast, flexible and built to capture must-see distant action:
    • Canon’s most powerful optical zoom compact camera
    • Full HD 60 fps movies with manual control gives you the freedom to shoot impressive movies 

  • The EF-S 24mm f/2.8 STM is Canon’s first 24mm EF-S pancake lens – with a portable and lightweight design it’s ideal for documenting the beauty of a city whilst travelling, or for unobtrusive photography of loved ones at social events
  • The EF 24-105mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM is a new 24-105mm zoom lens. Built for optimal performance when used in combination with Canon’s full-frame DSLRs, it offers a versatile zoom range to capture a diverse number of scenes with the added benefit of quiet, smooth focusing thanks to STM and Image Stabilizer technology
  • The new EF 400mm f/4 DO IS II USM is Canon’s latest super-telephoto lens, ideal for photographers who need a compact and lightweight design without compromising on reach. It features Canon’s unique third generation Diffractive Optic technology and a completely redesigned optical structure, for stunning results whether shooting wildlife, sports or news
  • Also previewing at photokina is the Cross Media Station, an upcoming product which encompasses Canon’s vision for a connected future. With built in storage and internet access, and the ability to transfer photos via NFC, your images will be always be immediately available
